Obituary For Carl “Big Dog” Pope

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Carl “Big Dog” Pope On September 21st, 2021.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, September 30th, at 12:00 PM at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church on Primrose Rd, Greenville GA 30222

Carl was a hard worker and a very strong man. He was employed by Pulliam Tires and later employed by Fulton County Schools. He was a businessman and began his own tire shop. After retirement, he decided to start a lawn care service for his children. Carl loved his family dearly and provided all the love and support they needed with a big smile.

He leaves to cherish his memory six children- Mario Tolbert, Anthony Baity, Carlos Pope, Ayanna Jones, Deontae Pope, Carlye Pope. Along with Lauryn Jones, a special addition to his children ; His brothers -Lovette Tennie, C. B. Pope (Rubi), Quentin Tennie (Trina) ; nine grandchildren, uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews and a large host of cousins, friends, and other family members ; As well as a long time companion of 22 years, LenToyias Jones.

Peace, laughter, joy, and money he made certain to have.

His favorite pastime was enjoying time with his children, friends, and family. After all, Carl Pope “Big Dog” was a family man.
