Obituary For Charlie Render

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Charlie Render on October 26th, 2019.

Funeral service is November 2nd, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Mt Sinai Baptist Church Gay Ga.

Visitation is November 1st, from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.

The Lord’s light began shining really bright on December 14, 1925 when He allowed Deacon Charlie Lee Render Sr. aka “Chi’ Lee” to be born to the late Mae Frances Sinkfield and Will Render in Meriwether County, Georgia. He was raised and taught the art of farming by his late grandmother, Brooksie Robinson. He was one of five boys: Willie Alexander, J.W. Alexander, Tommy Alexander, and Richard Drain. All of which preceded him in death. “Lord You allowed me to live on”.

“You’ve been better to me than I’ve been to myself.” He was blessed to marry Izetta Mitchell Render who served her husband faithfully until her death.

He is preceded in death by children: Charlie Render, Jr., Annie Doris Harris, Geneva Foster, Harvey Render and Mary Render and grandchildren: Charlie Dean Render, Lisa Maynard, and Marcus Render. One of Deacon Charlie’s favorite pastimes was reliving time spent sharecropping with his family along the Flint River in Meriwether County.

He was later hired by the William L. Bonnell Company where he worked alongside his wife twenty-six years before retiring. “Lord You brought me from a mighty long way.”

Another favorite pastime was watching and cheering for “HIS” Atlanta Braves. Two of the happiest moments in his life were when the Braves won the World Series in 1957 and 1995. “I Got a Feelin, Everything is Gonna Be All Right”!

Deacon Charlie Lee loved telling others about the Lord. He began learning about the Lord after joining the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at an early age. He served as president of the senior choir. He was later ordained as a deacon. He took what he learned to the hedges and highways by forming the gospel quartet group, “The Golden Jubiliees” around 1962. They spread the love of gospel music from Georgia to Florida. They picked’em up and layed’em down for decades. Deacon Charlie Lee enjoyed watching his gospel DVD’s until his death.

Deacon Charlie Lee leaves to cherish his memories his children: Brenda Wimbish; Shirome (Catherine) Render of Gay, Georgia: Daughter-in-law: Bettie Render of Gay, Georgia; Grandchildren who he raised: Randy (Valerie) Render of Senoia, Georgia; Monica Render and Contravious Render of Gay, Georgia. He leaves to cherish his memories 25 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, over 30 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, You Sho’ Been Good to Me!!

Mr. Render was at the same dialysis location for treatment as I am. It was a joy to get to see him every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at about 6:00 am. He was a precious man. Over the past year I grew to love him. I always ask him how he was and he.always said he was weak. Praise God he is not weak any longer. He is not on a Walker any longer. I am sure he is in heaven rejoicing with God. He is strong and not weak. It was a joy to get to meet him. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven and join him praising God together. I send my deepest sympathy to all of Mr. Renders family. He will be missed by me at dialysis. He was a precious man. May God give you mercy & peace. Love & blessings to Mr, Renders family & everyone that loved him.
