Obituary For Corrine Copeland

K. K. Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester respectfully announces the passing of Corrine Copeland on December 24th, 2018.

Funeral service is January 1st, 2019 1:00 pm at Salem Primitive Church in Waverly Hall, GA

Visitation is 12/31/18 from 2-6pm at K K Sewell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Corrine Smith Copeland was born March 22, 1935 to the late Will Smith and Cora Lee Smith in Talbotton, Georgia. She was the youngest of seven children.

Corrine was a graduate of Talbot County High School in Talbotton, Georgia. After graduating from Talbot County High School, Corrine moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work at the Georgia Baptist Hospital. After returning home from Atlanta, Georgia, Corrine later became a devoted wife and mother whose main priority was the rearing of her seven children. She lived in the Talbot County/Harris County area for majority of her life. She was a gentle, courageous, strong, loving mother who encouraged each of her children to pursue their dreams and goals in life. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid reader who loved reading about history, law, and medicine. She also loved to go fishing with her children.

On Monday, December 24, 2018, Corrine departed her life, at the age of 83, in the Piedmont Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Copeland, one daughter Gwendolyn Carter, and five siblings.

Corrine leaves to cherish loving memories (her children): Emory Carter (Jacqueline), Fabian Carter (Sharon), Harriet Edge (Willie) of Talbotton, Ga.; Iola Copeland (Paul), Jonathan Bussey, and Kimberly Bussey of Waverly Hall, Ga.; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; a sister, Inez Williams of Talbotton, Ga.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins and many lifelong and caring friends. She will be tremendously missed.
