Obituary For Dorothy Ann Leslie

K K Sewell Funeral Home respectfully announces the passing of Dorothy Ann (Dot) Leslie on July 30th, 2017.

Funeral service is Saturday August 5th at 12:30. from Arbor Chapel UMC in Warm Springs Ga.

Burial will be at Fellowship Baptist Church Greenville Ga.

Viewing today 11 to 6 at Sewell Mortuary Grantville Ga.

On July 30th, 2017, God said," It's time to come home my child job well done." Our mother, grandmother ,great grandmother ,sister, aunt and friend transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home in glory.

She was born, Dorothy Ann Dickerson, on June 20th, 1939 in Greenville , Georgia to the parents of Dixie Dickerson, Jr and Lillie Pearl Dickerson. She graduated from Greenville Consolidated High School in 1957. Dorothy married William (Pap) Leslie on August 17, 1957 and out of that marriage they had two sons, William Leslie, Jr. and Adolphus Leslie. Dorothy was a very active member of her church, Arbor Chapel United Methodist Church ,in Warm Springs ,Georgia where she was the church secretary. She was a fauthful member until her death. Dorothy was an expert seanstress and was employed at Playtex until retirement. She also did alterations and sewing as her own business. She had a passion for cooking and was the cook of the family and for many in the community. Dorothy was well known for several favorite dishes and for her famous cakes. Her heart was for her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. She loved herfamily and family gatherings. Holidays were always celebrated at the house of Williamand Dorothy with big meals, that favorite tea snd lots of laughter. She lved working in her yard, shopping, and loved her hats.

Dorothy was the first of nine children. She ws preceded in death by her father and mother, Dixie Dickerson, Jr and Lillie Pearl Dickerson, husband William (Pap) Leslie and her sister Mary Hunter. She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, William (Bill) Leslie (Gloria), Adolphus (Sam) Leslie (Beverly), three grandsons, Derrick Leslie (Nataki), Adolphus Leslie Jr., Kevin Leslie (Imani), two great grandsons, De' Jaun Leslie and A' miyah Leslie, Stepmother Louise Dickerson, three brothers: Calvin Dickerson (Susie), Dixie Dickerson III (Bettye), Curtis Dickerson (Gail), four sisters: Marie Davis, Jean Spence (Ellis) , Juanita Mullins ( James) Louise McBride and a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, and dear friends.
