Obituary For Ella M. Ellison

With humble respect, K. K. Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester announces the transition of Ella M. Ellison on June 1st, 2020.

Graveside service will be 6/13/20 11:00 am, at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Shiloh GA.

Public Visitation is June 12th, from 2 to 6 pm at K K Sewell Mortuary.

Ella Mae Ellison, the oldest of 9 children, was born in Chalybeate, Georgia to the late Ella Lee and Clarence Copeland Sr. Ella departed the physical world on June 1, 2020, at the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia.

She was a believer in Jesus Christ and joined Valley Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She was married to the late Robert C. Ellison for over 50 years.

Ella spent her childhood in the quiet environment of Manchester, Georgia. She helped to raise her younger siblings and worked harvesting various crops in the area. After graduating high school, she moved to Rochester, New York and worked as a nursing assistant for 5 or 6 years. She then returned to Manchester, married Robert and began working in nursing at the West Georgia Medical Center. She retired as surgical technician from the Enoch Callaway Cancer Center in LaGrange, Georgia after 20 years.

She leaves to mourn her loss but rejoice in her memory; two brothers, Willie (Anne) Copeland, of Talbotton, GA, and James (Brenda) Copeland of Manchester, GA; three sisters, Doris (Richard) Harris, of Cochran, GA, Mary Lee (Gene) Reid, of Decatur, GA, and Patricia Pinkston, of Manchester, GA; one sister-in-law, Julia Ann Copeland, of Woodbury, GA; two sons, Greg Ellison of Jonesboro, GA, and Allen Ellison of Seattle, WA; one daughter, Kimberly (Stacey) Reid of Riverdale, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
