Obituary For Ella R. Sinkfield

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Ella R. Sinkfield on May 25th, 2020.

Funeral Service will be May 30th, 2020, 1:00 PM at Mt Sinai Baptist Church (Immediate Family Only)

Visitation will be Friday May 29th, from 4 to 6 PM at Sewell Mortuary.

On October 4, 1939, Ella Ree “Sister” Sinkfield, was born to the late Mr. Willie, Sr. and the late Mrs. Henrietta Williams, Sinkfield in Meriwether County.

Sister Sinkfield worked numerous jobs which included her retired Newnan Hospital. She loved to go to church even days she was not feeling her best, but still made it to the church to praise the Lord and she loved to cook, singing her gospel songs in the kitchen. There was always a homecooked meal for the family. At an early age she confessed to Christ and joined the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Gay, Georgia where she served on the “Mother Board” faithfully.

Sister Sinkfield departed this life on May 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise (Diddy); her husband Cleophus (C J); their daughter Earnestine; their son Melvin Hardaway; a great nephew Reginald Sinkfield; a brother Johnny Sinkfield; son-in-law Ronnie McGill; and two nephews Brian Sinkfield and Michael Sinkfield.

Leaving to mourn and cherish beautiful memories, a daughter Dianne McGill; a son Bruce Sinkfield; three grandsons Earnest (Reasheada) Sinkfield, Antwan Sinkfied, RobDerickus Sinkfield and seven great grandkids; one sister Reva (Wesley) Favors; three brothers Joe Louis Sinkfield, Will Jr. (Gladys) Sinkfield and Arthur Sinkfield; her nieces and nephews that she raised as her own Clarence (Fannie Mae) Sinkfield; Vernell Hardaway, Cynthia Ann (Timmy) Baker, Clinton (Mary) Hardaway, Marion Hardaway and Cuba (Melinda) Sinkfield; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
