Obituary For Elnora Garfield

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Elnora Garfield on February 20th, 2018.

Funeral Service: 2/24/18 1 pm at Mt Sinai Baptist Church in Newnan Visitation: 2/23/18 from 1-6 pm at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.

INTERMENT: Westview Cemetery Boones Drive

A TIME TO BE BORN:

Born on January 8, 1924 in Newnan, Georgia to the late Albert and Bessie Kate Moss in Newnan, Georgia.

A TIME TO ACCEPT:

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia where she remained a member until her death.

A TIME TO LOVE:

Mrs. China was loved and loved all whom she came to know.

A TIME TO REMEMBER:

When we think of Ms. China, many fond memories come to mind. She was united in marriage to James Garfield and to this union one daughter was born. She was loving and deeply devoted to her family and church.

A TIME TO DIE:

God saw that Ms. China was growing tired and weary. On Tuesday night, God embraced Ms. China in His arms and enfolded her in His love. Ms. China left on her journey peacefully.

She leaves to cherish her memory her only daughter, Betty Ogletree; three grandchildren, China J. Moreland (James), Barry Ogletree, and Tracy Watson (Royce); a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, family and friends.

Preceded her in death; her long-time friend Sidney Smith, eight sisters and brothers, and one grandson.

    To the Family, I am sorry I can't be with you all at the funeral, cause I can't come this church anymore. I do love you all no matter what, and Let God be with you. She was the my President in the Club and she always encourage me to do what is right. I thank God for her and Uncle Henry Moss too. Sleep on and take you rest.
