Obituary For Geraldine Jarrett

K. K. Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester respectfully announces the passing of Geraldine Jarrett on August 17th, 2022.

The memorial service will be held on August 25th, 2022 at 1 PM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel in Grantville.

Geraldine “Dean” Jarrett passed away peacefully on August 17th at the age of 57 in Newnan Georgia. Born on December 25, 1963 in Hamilton Georgia, she was a special delivery to Edgar and Lucile Jarrett not only because she was a Christmas delivery but because she was a surprise twin and became the youngest of 9.

Dean matriculated through the Harris County school system and then moved to Atlanta to attend Georgia State University, where she received her bachelors of fine arts degree. She worked in interior design before finding herself at the Georgia Lottery. Deans Lottery career spanned 30 years as she was one of the handful of temps that worked behind the scenes onboarding retailers. Dean held several positions at GLC but her final role was that of Retailer Contracts Manager, where she led her team with integrity, dedication and compassion. She was a detailed problem-solver that was admired and respected by all.

Dean was a creative spirit and found pleasure in collecting and refinishing antiques and items that were less than beautiful to others. Dean also loved to travel statewide and abroad, most recently traveling to Italy. Lastly, Dean was a foodie and an amateur chef! She loved a great meal and anything kitchen related. She amassed an impressive collection of cookware, cookbooks and recipes.

Dean was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Luclie Jarrett, a sister Dorothy Pruitt, four brothers Lonnie Jarrett, Leon Jarrett, Willie Jarrett, Lester Jarrett.

Dean leaves to cherish her memories a sister Mae F. Hardnett Shiloh, Georgia, two brothers Gerald Jarrett (Brenda) Pine Mtn., Georgia, Donald Jarrett (Brenda) Shiloh, Georgia. a sister-in-law Gwendolyn Jarrett Shiloh, Georgia. a brother-in-law Amos Pruitt Pine Mtn. Valley, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
