Obituary For Jerry Kendall

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Jerry Kendall on August 13th, 2018.

Funeral Service is August 18th, 12:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church in Haralson GA.

Visitation is August 17th from 1 to 6 pm at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville GA.

Mr. Jerry Lee Kendall, Jr. was born August 19, 1947 in Coweta County Georgia to the late Jerry Lee Kendall, Sr. and Martha Ann Kendall. On Monday, August 13, 2018, Jerry heard the voice of Jesus say “Come unto me, all ye who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” at which time, he gave up his fight against cancer and departed this earthly life.

Jerry joined the New Hope A.M.E. Church at an early age and worked faithfully until he moved to Atlanta during the late 1960s. Until his health began to fail, he would always come back to attend the Homecoming Service held the first Sunday in August each year.

He attended the Coweta County Public School System and graduated from Central High School, Newnan, Georgia in 1965.

Jerry lived the majority of his life in Atlanta, Georgia. He worked for various construction companies, and AZ Rentals. Later in life he worked with various Theater companies throughout Atlanta. He enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by a special friend of 40 years, Margaret Willene Jackson; and two brothers, Bennie C. Kendall and Willie Henry Kendall.

He is survived by a brother, John Frank Kendall and one sister-in-law, Augusta Kendall; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
