Jimmie C. Lyons Hudson was the oldest daughter of the late Homer and Rosie Clements Lyons. She was born in Meriwether County, Georgia. She was educated in Meriwether county and attended Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia. She participated in correspondence courses for Post Graduate School of Nursing. She departed this earthly life on Friday, December 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Ollie, Annie B., Leila, Hattie, and one grandson, Jarrod Crowder.

She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Waddell Hudson. They had five beautiful children: Sonny, Minnie, Homer, Rosa, and one, Annie, who preceded her in death. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed: gardening, quilting, needlepoint, and baking chocolate cakes and sweet potato pies.

Mother Hudson served as a domestic housekeeper for many prominent households around Meriwether county and was an Avon representative for more than 43 years.

She became a member of the Greater Siloam Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 12. During her lifetime, she was blessed to serve His kingdom in many capacities: Sunday School teacher, church secretary for over 40 years, choir member, and an accomplished soloist. Mother Hudson also was a favored Women’s Day program speaker around the county. She was President of the Women’s Department for the Shiloh Union Missionary Baptist Church Association for more than 25 years. She was a teacher and mentor not only for her family but also for many members of the community.
