Obituary For Joeann Alford

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Joeann Alford on November 6th, 2019.

Funeral service for Joeann Alford will be held November 16th, 2019, 1:00 pm at Sunny Side Baptist Church 6545 Calloway Rd Greenville GA.

Visitation is Friday the 15th from 2 to 6 pm at Sewell Mortuary.

On This 16th day of November 2019 We are here to celebrate the life of Mrs. JoeAnn Middlebrooks Alford who was called home to Glory on the 6th, day of November 2019.

Born to the late Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Annie (Woodard) Middlebrooks on the 11th day of July. 1949. JoeAnn (Granny) attended school in the Meriwether County School System. Granny joined the Sunnyside Baptist Church at a very young age where she served faithfully until her health began to decline. Granny was married to Mr. Marvin Alford for 18 years unto which five kids were born with one preceding her in death, Mr. Lester “Bear” Alford. She leaves to cherish her memories Ms. Belinda Fay Alford, Ms. Evelyn Delaine Alford, Mr. and Mrs. William Jones (Zandra) and Mrs. Valerie Annette Alford-Roberts all of Newnan, GA.

Granny leaves behind 10 brothers and sisters with 3 to precede her in death, John Arthur Middlebrooks, Robert Lee Middlebrooks, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McGruder (Carrie/Susie), Charlie Henry Middlebrooks, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Clayton (Annie), Kathy Hunter, Rebecca Darden, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Steward (Rosa), Pastor Tommy Middlebrooks (Audrey), and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Victor Middlebrooks (Brenda). She leaves behind 2 uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Middlebrooks (Irene) of Homestead, FL, Tommy Middlebrooks of Atlanta, GA and 1 Aunt Mrs. Lucille Simpson of Detroit, MI. Granny sweet Granny was blessed with 12 grandkids, 14 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and every kid in her neighborhood who crossed over her threshold that lovingly called her Granny. To all her co-workers she worked beside but then there was Ms. Ela Mae Jackson, Ms. Lola Hayes, Mrs. Melissa Williams, Ms. Sallie Colton and the dedicated and true. But to all she appreciated you through and through.
