Obituary For John Colton

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of John Colton on July 27th, 2018.

Funeral service will be at Total Faith Church of Christ in Luthersville GA on August 4th, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

Visitation will be on Friday 8/3/18 from 2-7pm at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville Ga.

John Henry was the sixth boy born to our late parents Bennie Lee and Sarah Mae Colton.

John grew up in the Luthersville Zion Hill Community and went to Meriwether County Schools.

John joined the Army after school and served two years before returning home.

The last twelve years, John lived and worked in the Atlanta area where he retired this past February.

John enjoyed life and made friends easily and often. He always put family first before his own needs and loved family get togethers.

Our family chain is broken again as John join our heavenly family above leaving here a daughter, Zepora Shenita Render; two grandsons, Rashod Thomas and Caleb Render; two sisters, Georgia and Carla Mae; one brother, Michael; a special niece, Brandy (Loop Loop); two aunts, one uncle, two sister-in-laws and a large host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to remember his love.

Condolences

  • August 05, 2018

To my dear Colton family, Georgia, Mike and Carla. I am so sorry for the great loss of John. He will always be remembered as a kind and fun loving brother in law to me and uncle to my daughter. May your memories cause you to smile often in the difficult days ahead until you meet again. I came across this Scripture recently and I think that it is very fitting for this situation. "May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father...comfort your hearts and strengthen you" (2 Thess). 2:16,17). You all are forever in my heart, because you are such a big part of my past, present and future. Wishing you peace. love, Carolyn Colton Collier

I would like to express my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of John Colton. I am truly sorry for the lost that your family is feeling. Experiencing the lost of a beloved family member is one of the hardest thing that any of us can go thru. And because of that my thoughts and prayers are with your family. Take comfort in knowing that God never intent for us to deal with sickness or death. But have assurance in this wonderful promise that God holds out to us. But have assurance in this wonderful promise that God holds out to us. He promise us that very soon he is going to reunite us back with all those loved ones we have lost. (John 5:28,29) Until that time, cherish all the wonderful memories that you have of Mr. John. These precious memories will console the family in the day's ahead.
