A woman of many names that all represent one thing…LOVE. She lived a life of service to many. Rather she was caring for elders in the community at their bedside or giving someone a ride to the store/to run errands. Wherever there was a need and she could be of service, she had no problem doing so. As a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist church, she served on many committees and was also the mother of the church.

They say the quickest way to a person’s heart is through their stomachs and she was very well known for touching hearts through her home cooked meals. Sunday’s dinners, Friday’s fish fry, or just a meal on a day you decide to stop by, she didn’t mind feeding anybody. Her cakes and pies were to die for. Most would say her pound cakes were the best, but the red velvet was a favorite to many. You knew leaving her home on an empty stomach wasn’t an option because she would make sure everyone was fed.

If you needed a place to lay your head for the night, for a couple of days or until you get on your feet, her home was open to many. She didn’t mind opening her home to a person in need. She was a banker as well. She would loan money until you could pay her back or hold your money until you needed it, no matter what you could trust her.

She loved to dress! She always had to look nice and presentable no matter what she was doing or where she was going. She loved yard work, gardening and taking care of her plants. Everything had be in order. As a person of few words, her presence was never unnoticed. She always listened and when she gave advice, you knew it was sincere and from the heart. No matter who you were or how she met you, her impact on your life will be remembered and her love and legacy will live forever!
