Obituary For Mattie Wimbish

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Mattie Wimbish on October 25th, 2020.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 am at Mt Sinai Baptist Church in Gay, Ga on October 31st, 2020.

Visitation will be at Sewell Mortuary from 5 to 7 pm on October 30th, 2020.

Mrs. Mattie Louise (Rush) Wimbish was born October 18, 1946 in Coweta County to the late Persey Joe and Lizzie B. Rush in Senoia, Georgia.

Mattie received her formal education through the Coweta County Public School System. She later was employed at Southern Mills in Senoia as a textile worker where she gave them 30 plus years until she retired due to health issues.

Mother Wimbish accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined Oak Grove Baptist Church in Senoia, Georgia where she served as a faithful member from childhood to sunset. She was called from labor to reward on Sunday, October 25, 2020.

Mattie leaves to cherish a loving husband, Arthur Lee “Jerry” Wimbish; four children: Arthur Lee “Derrick” Wimbish, Jr (Shondra), Nacole Angela “Nikki” Moss (Travis), Crystal Joy “Chrissy” Siggers (Brian), Courtney Antonio Wimbish, and Blair Alexis Wimbish who only visited this old world for a few days. Also respectfully mentioning the siblings of the Wimbish children: Kirvin and Kenneth Clark and also a family adopted son, Reginald Jackson. She leaves behind a sister to cherish her memory: Margaret Amey. Eleven loving grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.

    To the Rush-Wimbish Family We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Mattie was a member of our class, Central High Class of 1966. The greatest class to graduate from CHS.
