Obituary For Thomas L. Peavy Sr.

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Thomas L. Peavy Sr. on January 30th, 2020.

Funeral Service is scheduled for February 6th, at 1:00 PM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel in Grantville GA.

Visitation will be February 5th from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM At Sewell Mortuary.

Thomas Lee Peavy Sr. was born on February 14th, 1947 in Fulton County to the late Willie and Jessie Peavy. He departed this life on Thursday, January 30th at his residence.

Thomas accepted Christ at an early age becoming a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Newnan, Ga where he was a faithful member until his passing.

Thomas was educated in the Fulton County School System and pursued a lifelong career at Owens Corning Fiberglass where he was employed from March of 1972 until his retirement in July of 2004. Thomas served as a group leader on the hot end for most of his career.

In 1969, he was joined in matrimony to Emma Kate Huggins who preceded him in death. Thomas was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters, three nephews, and one niece. Thomas leaves to cherish his loving memory three sons: Tommie Lee (Matrice) Peavy Jr, Antonio Bernard (Rebecca) Peavy, and Adrian Lamont Peavy; seven grandchildren: Shadiria McCants, Tommie Peavy III, Tyrese Peavy, Caleb Peavy, Katie Peavy, Makayla Peavy, Tony Peavy; Three great grandchildren: Jaryus Stowes, Jaylin Stowes and Tradarius Ferrer; Two sisters: Lunett Gould and Annie Mae Newson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish his memory.
