With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Willie Clark on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022.

The funeral service for Mr. Clark is Wednesday at 1 o'clock at Macedonia Baptist Church.

The visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 7 PM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel.

Deacon Willie Clark was born on April 10, 1934 to the late Owen and Minnie Clark. He was born and raised in Grantville, GA. He was the oldest child of the family. He was also educated and learned to farm in the same community.

Affectionately known as “Spoot” by his family and friends, he was well known by lots of people. He transitioned peacefully early on the morning of February 16, 2022 after a short period of illness. He fought a good fight.

Deacon Clark was an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he joined at an early age. He was the oldest deacon in the church. He faithfully served as Chairman of the Deacon Board for several years and worked in other capacities throughout the years. He worshiped often at churches in the surrounding areas. He enjoyed going to church until his health started to fail.

He worked for several different business in his life. His last profession was truck driver where he became an owner/operator until his retirement. Not ready to stay home he became a school bus driver until he was ready to hand up his keys.

He was a true outdoorsman. He loved his truck, tractor, lawnmowers and planting a garden. He always did something outside. His main craft was making his famous Brunswick Stew and it was awesome. We are going to miss it.

Deacon Clark lived a long happy life. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend. He had a large family, and he was looked up to by all of them. He adored his grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 30 years Dorothy Clark; children, Barbara Jean, Willie David, Jack (Jackie), Bruce, Herman, Emily, Sylvia, Allison (Sam), Christopher (Sonya), Chris (Cheryl), Rodney (Pam); sisters, Thelma, Ola Mae (Ben), Rose Marie, Cora Lee, Annette, Mary Kate; brothers, Jerry and Patricia Arnold; forty-eight grandchildren, ninety-three great grandchildren, forty-two great great grandchildren; brother-in-laws, Booker Parham, Edward Parham, Leroy Parham (Pearl), Robert Parham, David Parham, Elroy Parham (Synethia); sister-in-laws, Mollie McCall (Lorenzo), Catherine Johnson, Pauline Walker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
