Yvonne Carter affectionally known as ‘Sister’ was born July 6, 1958 in Newnan Georgia to Murry and the late Abraham Carter. Yvonne was an energetic and loving child. She was the oldest girl and quickly learned cooking, cleaning, and sewing skills as a youth while assisting her mother. Yvonne revied her education in the Coweta County School system. She graduated from Newnan High School Class of 1976. Yvonne would later go on to receive an associate degree in Business Management.

Yvonne’s most prized possession were her children. She often told people she had her own athletic team as she had nine children. She enjoyed her kids so much that she added her two grand-children and raised them as her own.

Yvonne worked in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide for her family. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and was known. to read three or four books per week. She also enjoyed sewing and made several prom dresses for her girls. Yvonne’s passion was home décor and she would often be covered in paint from one of her latest decorating projects. With her imagination and sharp eye for design she could take a few dollars and make million-dollar creations out of nothing.

In early January Yvonne received a breast cancer diagnosis and rolled up her sleeves and got to work fighting cancer. While defeating cancer, Yvonne had other medical complications that would eventually lead to her departing this life on July 22, 2021. Yvonne was proceeded in death by the Love of her Life Travis White, Father Abraham Carter, sister Sharron Carter, brother Willie Carter, stepson Malcolm White, and grandson Shamar Carter.

Yvonne is survived by her mother Murry Carter, brothers Abraham Carter, George Carter, Robert Carter (Teresa), Johnny Carter (Angela), Cleve Carter (Debra), sisters Carolyn Strickland and Marilyn Brown (Gerald).
