With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Akayla Bussey on Thursday, July 1st, 2021.

The funeral service will be Saturday, July 10th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at New Community Church at 1200 South Davis Rd Lagrange Ga 30241.

Visitation is Friday the 9th from 6 to 8 PM at Sewell Mortuary

Ms . Akayla Cavez Bussey affectionately known as Kayla, Kate, Kayla Coo Coo, and A . K . was born on November 13th, 1998 to the parents of Curtis and Jacqueline Bussey.

Kayla was a graduate of Spring Wood School in Lanett, Alabama and she attended college at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia where she was pursuing a degree in Nursing. She enjoyed laughing, music, singing and most of all driving and she had a lot of love for her family and friends.

On July 1 st, 2021, she was called home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her brother Curtis O'brian Bussey.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, two sisters Afrika Samuels (Rod), Octavia Williams (Derrick); one brother Ontario Brown (Sherhonda ); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also leaves to cherish, a very special niece (Tay Tay) whom she loved dearly as a sister and was always in her corner no matter what.
