Obituary For Alvin Copeland

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Alvin Copeland on January 14th, 2024.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday 1/20/24 at 12 PM, at Shiloh Baptist Church Shiloh, Ga

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 PM on Friday 1/19/24 at the mortuary.

Deacon Alvin Copeland was born February 1, 1948 in
Harris County, Shiloh, Georgia to the late Rufus, Sr. and
Vera L. Copeland.

He departed this life on January 14, 2024

Alvin was educated in the Harris County School System.
After high school Alvin decided to proudly serve our
country by joining the United State Army.

At an early age Alvin accepted Christ and joined Shiloh
Missionary Baptist Church where he proudly served as a
deacon for over 40 years and also on the finance
committee.

Alvin worked and retired after many years from a
manufacturing company Coats and Clarks. After
retirement he decided to start his own business as a tv
repairman.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parent, Rufus, Sr. and
Vera L. Copeland. His Sisters: Clara J. Copeland and Judy
Ward. Mother-in-law: Mary Lizzie Parks, Sister-in-law:
Delores Williams and Brother & Sister-in-law: Willie Joe
and Annie J. Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories a Loving and Devoted
wife, Mary L. Copeland and Son, Eldridge Jerome
Copeland. 2 Brothers: Nathaniel Copeland and Rufus
Copeland, Jr. of Atlanta Georgia. 2 Sisters: Mary
Copeland of Shiloh, Ga. And Patricia (Tyrone) Pearson of
Rex, GA. 2 Grandsons: Stephun Jones and Anthony
Copeland of Rex, Ga. Sisters-in-law: Bettye Williams,
Ethel (Bobby) Marshall, Vanessa Parks and Theresa
(Curtis) Williams. Nieces: Pamela, Felita, Cynthia,
Yolanda, Surmeika, Adrienne, Brianna, Darlene and
Amaya. Nephews: Barry, Dante`, Chantal, Adelric, Bobby
Jr., Corderick and Martavious. Chosen Daughters: Doris
and Lisa Special Friends: Sam, Robertson and Lil Bit. His
great nieces, nephews, cousins and friend will also miss
him dearly.
