Sewell Mortuary is sad to announce the passing of Annie Josie Parks on January 4th 2016.

Mrs. Annie Josie Godfrey Parks (Big Sis) was born October 10, 1938 in Gay, Georgia to the late Willie Lee Godfrey ad the late Mattie B. Grier.

Annie Josie joined the church at an early age. On November 6, 1953 Annie Josie was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. David Parks Jr. (Lil Dave). To this union eight children were born.

Annie Josie (Big Sis) leaves to cherish her memories eight children, Willie Frank Parks, Mary Parks Strozier (Bobby), James David Parks, Sr. (Florine), Bennie C. Parks, Robert Ellis Parks, Sammie Parks, Linda Dean (Johnny), and Larry Parks (Renee); eight brothers, Willie C. (Martha) Godfrey of Luthersville, GA, Alvin (Catherine) Godfrey of Luthersville, GA, Jimmy (Brenda) Godfrey of College Park, GA, Grier (Sherrill) Godfrey of Flovilla, GA, Willie B. (Deborah) Godfrey of Warner Robins, GA, James (Vicky) Godfrey of Luthersville, GA, Douglas Ricky (Patricia) Godfrey of Luthersville, GA, Michael (Synthia) Godfrey of Grantville, GA; five sisters, Ethel Lee Haynes of LaGrange, GA, Willie Mae Jackson of Grantville, GA, Gladys (Johnny) Elder of Luthersville, GA, Shirley Colton of Lone Oak, GA, Brenda (Kenneth) Lakes of Grantville, GA; nine sister-in-laws and five brother-in-laws (three preceded her in death); seventeen grandchildren (one preceded her in death); thirty great grandchildren (one preceded her in death); one great great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very devoted and special friend sister, Judy Brown.

Before her sickness, she loved church. She had a deep passion for God and her family. Annie Josie will be missed by all who knew her.
