Obituary

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Bertha Jeffers on September 16th, 2021.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 25th at Sewell Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 PM.

On Friday, October 31st, 1952, the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy and Marjorie were blessed with their second daughter, Bertha Nell. She was baptized at an early age at Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church. She was educated in the Coweta County school system. Graduating with the first desegregated class of 1971 from Newnan High School.

Affectionately known as "Bert" by her family and friends, but those dear to her heart called her "Mom" and "Granny Gran". She was preceded in death by two children, LaShan and Stevie Tolbert; and two sisters, Cathy and Christine Atkinson.

Left to cherish her memories are: Her son, Lovie "Deon" (Tasha) Tolbert; grandchildren Brianica Tolbert, Gary Woods III, Sanchez T. Woods and Artis Tolbert; Along with her great- grandchildren Harmony Harper, Kaleb Harper, Micah Harper, Gary Woods IV, and Ahmad Woods; As well as her brother, Travis L. Atkinson and sisters Martha Jean Atkinson, Juanita Atkinson, and Patricia Green.
