Bobbie Jean Rosser-Heflin, the daughter of William Henry Rosser and Ellen Francis Rosser, was born July 31, 1943. She was affectionately known as "Bobbie Jean" by all who knew and loved her.
She was the fifth of eleven children and enjoyed a demanding, yet loving childhood while growing up in Grantville. Being raised on a farm, she developed a love for animals at an early age and was especially fond of cats.
Bobbie Jean knew and loved the Lord and was a longtime member of John Wesly UMC in Grantville. She was baptized and joined the church as a teenager. She loved her church family and would always welcome the opportunity to attend and worship with them.
Endowed with intelligence and artistic talent, Bobbie Jean was known for being able to draw just about anything she set her mind to. She was a gifted seamstress, capable of sketching out and then creating her very own clothing designs.
After graduating from Central High School in Newnan with the class of '61, she enrolled in and completed 1 year of study at Fort Valley State College before deciding to join the U.S. Navy. After earning an MS certification in training, she served in various administrative positions in several CONUS locations.
Bobbie Jean welcomed her oldest son Christopher after separating from the Navy in 1966. Soon Boras and Marcus followed. She always felt that her greatest accomplishment and joy was being able to raise her three boys into successful and well-rounded young men.
Bobbie Jean was employed by SS Kresge corporation in Newnan and took early retirement after a 20+ year career working as an administrator. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her siblings and mother as well as being a grandmother to her nine grandkids.
Bobbie Jean was a loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, and aunt. She had a beautiful smile that would light up a room, along with a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. She was truly a giving soul and was loved by all who knew her.
On January 18, 2024, at the age of 80, Bobbie Jean was called home to be with her Lord. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, and four sisters. Bobbie Jean leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted children Christopher Rosser; Boras Rosser (Shaliesa); Marcus Rosser; her brothers William Louis Rosser (Rosetta); Daniel Rosser (Katherine); Jonathan Rosser (Sylvia); and Victor Rosser; nine grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Sewell Mortuary is honored to be entrusted with providing end-of-life services to the family of Bobbie Heflin.
