With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Brenda Gates on August 16th, 2021.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm on August 20th at the mortuary.

Funeral service will be at Sewell Mortuary Chapel at 10:00 AM on August 21st, 2021.

Interment will follow at Wadley Chapel CME Church in Hogansville Ga

Brenda Elaine Gates, was born November 16, 1953 in Hogansville Georgia. She was the Daughter of the late OB and Katherine Brown. She entered into eternal heaven to be with our heavenly father on August 16, 2021 at East Alabama Medical Center Opelika, Alabama.

Brenda worked at East Alabama Medical Center for 18 years In the Laundry department.

During her time away from work she enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Auburn Tigers football games as well as listening to gospel music.

Left to cherish her loving memories are, her husband of 48 years James Gates; six kids: Antonio Brown, Fredrick Brown, James Jerome Gates, Jennifer Jones, Reginald Gates and Timothy Gates; sisters: Patricia Cameron, Lillian Patterson, Glenda Rutledge, Kathy Grier, Angela Daniel; Brothers: Joe Brown, Arthur Brown, The late Jarvis Brown, Stanley Patterson, John Patterson, The late Kenneth Grier, Dennis Grier, Mark Grier, Neil Grier, Derrick Grier; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
