Memorial Service
Mr. Edward Amey (Knocky) was born October 25, 1935 in Meriwether County to the late Hugh Alvin and Sallie Amey on Monday, March 16, 2015, God called his son home.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie C. Amey, John Rufus Amey and Wilson Amey.
He attended Meriwether County Public County School. He worked for Delta Airline for seventeen years, then he worked for Mead in Greenville, Georgia til he retired.
He was a devoted member at Fellowship Baptist Church. He served as chairman of Deacon board for many years.
He was united in marriage to the late Mary France (Birts) Amey. To this union seven children was born.
He leave to cherish his memories seven children; four sons, Willie Alvin Amey, Stanley Amey, Terry Amey and Edward L. Amey all of Grantville, GA; three daughters, Vernice Johnson, Brenda Pope and Linda Smith all of Riverdale, GA; one sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Park of Luthersville, GA; five brother-in-laws, Rev. A. L. Birts, Leonard Birts, Samuel Park, William Jackson and Floyd Harris; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Rose B. Amey, Josphine Jackson, Mary Harris; one aunt, Evelyn Davis; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends; special niece, Valeria (Amey) Bailey.
INTERMENT: Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery
