Fleming Herring was born August 5, 1932 to the late Clifford and Maggie Herring.

Fleming joined Greater Mount Zion at an early age. He was employed at US Plywood of Atlanta for twenty-eight years. Fleming was also employed at Bonnell for five years as well Playtex for seven years prior to his retirement.

Fleming is preceded in death by two brothers: Clifford Jr. and Donald Herring; four sisters: Lenora Mary E. Wilcoxson, Helen Vaughn, Lorena Brown, Mildred Brown; and one grandson: Tavarees Redwine.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son and two daughters: Anthony Herring, Teresa (McDonald) Redwine, Vivian (Oliver) Bass; eight grandchildren: Derrick and Eric Herring, Antonio Woods, Terrance and Sheena Redwine, Demetrius, Deidre, and Aeral Bass; nine great grandchildren; six brothers: Mr. and Mrs. R. H. (Maria) Herring, Mr. Willie Herring, Mr. Alfred Herring, Mr. and Mrs. James (Eva) Herring, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie (Linda) Herring, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Herring; two sisters: Mrs. Annie Ruth Boozer (Lonzer) and Ms. Patricia Stargell; a loving niece Loretta Herring Stinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
