Sister Gloria Jean Owens-Copeland was born September 23, 1964 to parents Tommy Lee Owens Sr. and the late Edna Henry-Owens. God sent his Angel of Mercy on November 17, 2015 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Georgia.
Gloria was a 1982 graduate of Manchester High School and graduate of West Georgia Technical College in LaGrange, Georgia.
Gloria was employed by the Meriwether Board of Education at Mountain View Elementary School in Manchester, Georgia.
Gloria gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a faithful disciple of Valley Grove Baptist Church where she served in the music ministry as a church musician. She also served at Praise Tabernacle o Manchester, Georgia as the church musician.
Gloria was united in Holy Matrimony to Minister Paul K. Copeland Sr. for 29 years and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Rufus G. Copeland Sr.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Patrice C. Copeland; a son, Paul K. Copeland, Jr.; a granddaughter, Kamaria C. Allen; siblings, Elizabeth (Eddie) Anthony, Jeanette (Wendell) Turner, Shirley (Jerome) Copeland, Tommy (Gloria) Owens, Peggy (Johnny) Ellison and Sammy Owens; mother-in-law, Evangelist Gladys (Isaiah) Holt; brother-in-laws, Minister Rufus (Tammy) Copeland, Jr. Curtis (Beverly) Copeland and Minister Garry Copeland; sister-in-laws, Minister Sonya Copeland and Vernita (Emiko) Garmon; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
