Sewell Mortuary in Grantville, respectfully announces the passing of Greg Philpot on August 5th, 2017.

Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday August 12th, 11:00 am from Sewell Mortuary in Grantville GA.

Gregory B. Philpot was born on April 19, 1957 to the late Grady and Mary Jean Philpot in Coweta County, Georgia. He departed this life August 5, 2017 at Pruitt Health in Greenville, Georgia.

He attended Newnan High School, graduated in 1975. Greg worked at West Point Pepperell 21 years; worked at Andrews for multiple years. His last place of employment was at Goldens on the Square.

His mother and father preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories four children, Tamara Russell, Shaila J. Philpot, Stanfred Philpot (Katie) and Bryant Philpot; four grandchildren, Austen, Jorden, Amirrah and Stanfred Jr. (SJ); one sister, Cheryl Hale (Ivory); one uncle, Willie James Carter, one aunt, Murray Carter; nephews, Clint, Kevin and Jay; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
