Hazel Brown Jackson was born April 8, 1941 to the late Robert Lee and Jessie Mae Brown. Hazel was reared in a Christian home and joined the Jehovah Baptist Church in Grantville, Georgia. Later, she joined Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an active member of the Usher Board.
Hazel received her early education in the Coweta County School system , where she later graduated as a track sensation at Central High School. She furthered her education by receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree from Fort Valley State University. After serving 32 years in the Coweta County School System; Hazel retired while working at East Side Elementary School; where she developed life long friendships with the wonderful co-workers that surrounded her.
On June 15, 1974, she was united in holy matrimony to the late Levi Jackson and to this union three children were born including an adopted son. After settling into her retirement, she began traveling with the "Golden Girls"; the late Evelyn Bass, Gwendolyn Jackson, and Virginia L. Jackson. She also began spending her last few days establishing great relationships with the wonderful people of the Senior Enrichment Center.
Memories of Hazel will continue to live on by her three surviving children; Quentin Jackson, Kecia (Floyd) Jones, Bacchus (Latonya) Jackson; four grandchildren: Bacchus Jackson, Jr., Kenton Jackson, Isaiah Jackson, Austin Jones; three sisters: Sarah Middlebrooks, Rosa (Robert) Wilkerson, Martha (Bennie) Maye, one brother: Robert (Doris) Brown, Jr.; brother-n law William Trammell. Preceding her in death was her late husband, Levi Jackson; adoptive son , Dwayne McCall; two sisters: Jessie Lee Moody and Mary E. Trammell; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will continue to remember their "Dancing" angel Hazel Brown Jackson.
