Sewell Mortuary respectfully announces the passing of Ms. Ida Mae Brown, 79, who transitioned on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Ms. Brown was born on March 13, 1947. Professional services have been entrusted to Sewell Mortuary.

There will be a Funeral Service Thursday, August 6th at 1 PM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel. Public Viewing will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at Sewell Mortuary.

Ida Mae Brown was born March 13, 1947 to the late Albert and Marion Parks in Greenville, Georgia. 

Ida was united in holy matrimony to the late Connell Brown. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Angela Parks and her sister, Mattie Ward. 

She retired from Roosevelt Rehabilitation in Warm Springs, Georgia. Ida helped taught children during the 1996 Olympics. 

Ida Mae leaves to cherish her memory, son, Charlie A Parks; daughter, Tina M. Parks; grandchildren, Jamika Parks, Amika Parks, Darius Simmons and Jarvis Simmons; great grandchildren; Romelo Chaney, Armanii Baldwin, Kehlani Chaney, Ke’Aris Dixon, all of LaGrange, Georgia; special cousins, Roger Tucker, Levar Parks and Tommy Tucker; a host of family, friends and cousins.
