James, Junior, Jimmy Walker, Deacon Walker, Chief and Grand-grand and affectionately known in Coweta County as "Walking Tall" the youngest of the family; I've carried many titles.
I grew up in Barnesville Georgia, born May 17, 1934 to the late James Sr. and Elma Walker.
I attended school in Lamar County; where I learned the meaning of hard work family values and faith. I joined Sardis Baptist Church early in life. When I became a man, I moved to Atlanta Georgia and went to work as a cab driver. I later moved to New Jersey where my career continued as a long-distance truck driver, I also joined the Masonic Lodge and earned my 33rd degree the highest honor. I was also elected secretary and treasurer for the Teamster Union where I retired.
I moved back to Georgia to be near my daughter Mary in Zion Hill Community. I always wanted to be a cop so I started so I pursue my passion and joined law enforcement; beginning my career in Grantville Police Department. I moved on to Greenville Police Department for a while, then on to Coweta County Sheriff Department as a Deputy staying there for fifteen years. I got the best opportunity ever to become the Chief of Greenville Police Department and this is where I retired. I stayed off work for a little while but, I choose to go Heard County as a Lieutenant; it's in my blood.
I was getting older and my health began to decline. I got up on Sunday morning July 9, 2017 preparing to go the Branch Hebron Baptist Church and I heard God's whispering call; rest my son your work here is done. Well done my good and faithful servant.
I didn't have time to say good bye to my wife of thirty-five years Rosa. She was just in the other room; I shut my eyes and I opened them up in Heaven.
