Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Joe N Tenney on August 22nd, 2018.

Funeral Service: 8/31/18, 12:00 PM at Mt Sinai Baptist Church in Newnan GA.

Visitation: 8/31/18 from11:00-12:00 PM at Mt Sinai Baptist Church in Newnan GA.

Mr. Joe Nathan Tenney was born October 25, 1950 to the late Alonzo Tenney and Emma Mae Tenney in Newnan, Ga.

Joe Nathan (affectionately known as "Bae") was a very skilled mason and was known as a man of many skills. He was always willing to help by either teaching or completing a task himself. He was known for his unique way of dancing, his love of singing, and doing the famous "Ham Bone."

He and all of his life's actions will be missed deeply. Smiles and laughter will follow every thought and memory.

Joe Nathan was preceded in death by his father Alonza Tenney, mother Emma Mae Tenney, sisters: Lanetta Rosser, Brenda Garrett, and Priscilla Tenney, brothers: Willie Jean Cousin, Allen Tenney, and son, Michael Tenney.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Shirley Ann Tenney, three sons: Joe Tenney, Markus (Michelle) Tenney, John (Christie) Tenney, One daughter, Sharon Tenney, 18 grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Four sisters: Annie Pearl Zachery, Johnnie Mae Allen, Harriet (William) Rhodes, Diana Tenney, and a host of nieces and nephews.
