Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of John A. Calloway On November 19th, 2018. Funeral service is November 25th, 2:00 pm at Elim Baptist Church Davis Rd. in Newnan GA.

Visitation is 11/24/18 from 4-6 pm at Sewell Mortuary.

Deacon John A. Calloway was born July 2, 1929 in Coweta County to the late Mr. William J. and Mrs. Willie B. Orr Calloway. He was called home to reward on November 19, 2018 at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation, Coweta County. He was the fifth of nine children. At an early age he joined the Elim Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend F. Smith where he was a very active member until his health failed.

He was employed by the William L.Bonnell Company until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Rev. W. A. Calloway, Dea. Ed Calloway, Mr. C. R. Callowayand Mr. William Calloway; and one sister, Mrs.Emily M.Calloway Phillips. He leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Mrs. Ollie B. Wood of Franklin, GA and Mrs.Polly A. Echols of Newnan, GA; one brother, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Calloway (Henrietta) of Newnan, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
