With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of John I. Rhodes on September 26th, 2023.
A Memorial service will be held on October 7th, 2023 at 1 PM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel.
On August 16 ,1950 , Mr. John Ira Rhodes was born in Newnan , Georgia to Mr. Garnell Rhodes and Mrs. Willie Pearl Moreland Rhodes. He made his transition to be with the Lord on September 25 , 2023. He served in the Marine Corps until 1976 when he was medically discharged. In 1975 , John and Evelena were united in the Holy Matrimony . John accepted Christ as his personal savior. He will be remembered as kindhearted, bossy and free spirited. He loves to travel, and he absolutely loved drag racing he will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garnell and Willie Pearl Rhodes ; Sister Susie Stegall. Brothers , Benell , Leroy , Billy and Dennis. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 47 years Evelena Rhodes , His brother Napoleon Rhodes, his sister, Diana Daniel, Missie Harris, and Frances Dixon. His brother-in-law, Willie "Tee" Stewart and sister-in-law, Wendy (Albert) Kelley. One son, James (Roysland) Stewart, one daughter, Samantha (Bobby) Willoughby ; and a host of grandchildren , great grandchildren , nieces and nephews , cousins , friends , etc To whom he affectionately loved
