Mr. Johnny Lee Bray, fondly called "Baby Brother" by family, and called "Moon Dog" by a host of friends, walked into the light in the early hours on Friday, August 12, 2023 at Sacred Journey Hospice, Newnan, Georgia. On March 20, 1952, in Meriwether County Georgia, Jimmy Lee Bray and Jennie Mae Carter Bray welcomed their first child, a boy and they named him Johnny Lee.

Johnny attended and graduated from Greenville Consolidated High School in 1970. He later attended and graduated from Upson County Technical College, Thomaston, Georgia majoring in AutoBody. For several years after graduation and until the company closed, he worked for Southern Ambulance Builders in LaGrange, Georgia. He later worked for several other AutoBody Companies. Johnny was always available to lend a helping hand, to do a favor, or to give a word of comfort or encouragement to someone in need of a friend; he was intuitive and always knew the soothing words to uplift the spirits of those around him with a smile.

At an early age, he joined Cane Creek Baptist Church, Woodbury, Georgia where he was later ordained as a Deacon. He served on the financial committee and usher. Johnny was very active and committed to his church obligations and always willing to share his love for God and others.

In 1972, Johnny married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Brenda Colton. To this union three children were born, Stephanie, Richard Sr., and Johnathan.

He was preceded in-depth by his parents-Jimmy Lee Bray and Jennie Mae Carter Bray, brother-Eddie Carter, and son Richard Sr.

To eternally cherish his life, bright spirit, and memories are: his wife, Brenda Colton Bray; daughter, Stephanie(Darin) McCord; son Johnathan(Robbie) Bray; two sisters-Shirley (Hiram) Hayes, Vanessa Cutwright; one brother- Eddie Bray; uncle-Calvin Moreland, Richard Bray Jr- older grandchild; 9 other grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister in law- Margarette Carter; brother in law-Mark Cutwright; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends

Sewell Mortuary is honored to be entrusted with providing end-of-life services to the Bray family.
