Obituary

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Kevin Hall on August 15th, 2017.

Funeral service is Saturday August 19th, 1:00 pm from Macedonia Baptist Church in Grantville GA.

INTERMENT: Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Bear Creek Moreland, Georgia

Public viewing is Friday August 18th, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.

Mr. Kevin Lamont Hall, affectionately known as "Poback", was born in Newnan, Georgia on April 30, 1978 to Ms. Beverly Hall and Mr. Howard Ragland, Sr. He departed this life August 15, 2017, at Atlanta Medical Center, after an extended illness at Phillips Correctional Center in Buford, Georgia.

During his 21-year tenure in the Georgia Prison System, Kevin made many accomplishments and mentored many using his own testimony to help change lives. He received his GED Diploma in 1998. He then attended Leavelle College Theological Seminary of New Orleans, and received an Associate Degree in Christian Ministry in December 2009. The Chaplain and Warden regularly praised Kevin for his works at Phillips.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Arthur "Bap" Hall and Inola Warner Hall; and Willie B. and Prima Ragland; his sister, April Hall; two uncles, Arthur Warner and Willie Lee Hall.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and dedicated mother, Ms. Beverly Hall; father, Mr. Howard Ragland, Sr.; five brothers, Michael Hall, Cedric Hall, Rainey Ragland, Howard Ragland, Jr., and Jamall Ragland; two sisters, Marsha Hall and Hyacintha Teagle; four aunts, Brenda Hall, Pearl Hall, Gwen Hall Arnold, and Debra Ann (Jeff) Smith; four nephews and seven nieces; a very special cousin, Sherry Pitman and god-daughter, Serenity Pitman whom he loved deeply; several great nieces and nephews; and a host of other great-aunts and uncles, cousins, family and friends. Kevin was loved by many.
