Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Larry Reed.

Funeral Service Friday, July 21st, 2017 at 11:00 am, at St. John Baptist Church in Newnan.

INTERMENT: St. John Baptist Church Cemetery

Visitation is Thursday 11:30 am until 7:00 pm at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville GA.

Larry Reed was born July 30, 1950 to the late John Henry and Lillia Mae Reed. He was the youngest of nine children. He departed this life on July 16, 2017 at his home.

In the forth grade, Larry met Dianne Hall who was sitting in front of him, pulling on her pony tails. He married his lifetime sweetheart, Dianne, on August 26, 1970. They were married for 46 years. To this union three children were born.

He graduated from Central High School in 1969. He was employed with Atco Rubber Company for over thirty years until his retirement. He continued to work in the community which includes organizing United We Stand. He joined St. John Baptist Church at an early age.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Plas Henry Reed, Merrell Reed; three sisters, Jessie Mae McAfee, Hattie Freeman, Helen Bradfield.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dianne; two sons, Reginald (Veronica) Powell and Corey Reed; three daughters, Gina (English) Harris, Tracey (Deion) Alford, Amanda (Shimon) Melson; two special daughters, Lynita Rucker and April Fordham; ten grandchildren, Caitlin, Caleb, Tristan, English III, Exzekiel, Elgin, Justin, Deion Jr., Kaitlyn and Destiney; one brother, George Reed; two sisters, Kaylee Williams and Olliajden Watkins; five brothers-in-law, Edward (Tommie) Hall, Michael (Angelia) Hall, Randy (Dorothy) Hall; four sisters-in-laws, Bernice (Hamilton-deceased) Hall, Linda (Wayne) Herndon, Rita Pender, Gloria Moss; seven great grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
