On April 30, 1952, God blessed Lizzie Mae and Timothy Parks Sr. with a baby girl whom they named Learadene, later known as Dene.

Dene joined Springfield at an early age and joined the choir for a while. She was a 1970 graduate of Greenville Consolidated School. Her favorite passion was sewing. She was employed by Playtex in Manchester until their closing. However, she sewed for many family and friends. Everything from baby clothes to men suits. I often thought that she was going to put Flag Brothers out of business.

Preceding her in death was her father, Timothy Parks Sr.; two brothers, James and Timothy Jr.; and her mother, Lizzie Mae Barnes Parks.

She leaves to cherish her memories brother Zanvel (Willie Mae) Parks of Luthersville, GA, brother Vinson and sister Bessie both of Greenville, GA and Ezekiel (Carolyn) Parks of LaGrange, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
