With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Lena Turner on June 15th, 2020.

Funeral Service for the immediate family only will be held June 20th, 1:00 PM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel.

Please wear masks at all services.

Visitation is June 19th, from 3 to 5 pm at the mortuary.

On June 14, 2020, Lena Mae Brittian Turner, was born to the late Mr. Elijah Brittian and the late Mattie Daisy Brittian in Meriwether County. She was married to the late Jack Turner from 1973-1978.

Sister Turner worked numerous jobs, Morrison Food Services, Atlanta, GA for 7 years, Southern Cross Spring Bed, Atlanta, GA for 11 years, then her last job was Moreland Elementary School, Moreland,GA for 12 years which included her retirement.

She loved to entertain and had a passion for cooking for the family and friends, playing cards and traveling, then her other enjoyment was her gardening when she lived in Moreland, GA. At an early age she joined the Sunnyside Baptist Church, Greenville, GA where she faithfully served on the "Mother Board" until her health declined.

Sister Turner departed this life on June 15, 2020 a day after her birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Turner, father and mother, Elijah and Mattie Daisy Brittian, sister Mattie Lizzie Hardaway, sister Lillian Harvey, sister Christine Hammett, sister Florence Brown, brother Daniel Brittian, brother Robert Lee Brittian, brotherHerbert Brittian.

Leaving to mourn and cherish her beautiful memories, a sister Agnes Daisy Brittian, a brother Tommie Brittian (Rosa Lee), a brother Willie Roger Brittian (Katherine), a brother Elijah Brittian Jr. (Annie Jewell), her nieces and nephews that she helped raised as her own children Lester Brown (Tonya), Donald Brittian (Charlotte) Alex Brittian and Angela Brittian, and one step daughter Cathy Sellers.
