K. K. Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester respectfully announces the passing of Lizzie K. Denson on September 22nd, 2018.

Funeral service is September 26th, 12 noon at New Hope Baptist Church in Manchester GA.

Visitation is September 25th from 3:00-6pm at KK Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester GA.

Mrs. Lizzie Kate Denson born February 21, 1942 to the late James W. and Fannie M. Cofield. She went on to eternal glory on September 22, 2018.

She was a graduate of Meriwether County Training School, Manchester Georgia. She retired from the Talbot County Cooperative Extension program with 33 years of service. She worked with families one-on-one to help them address issues that affected their quality of life. She also served on the Talbot County Board of Education for 18 years.

During retirement, she was very active in her community by serving on the Department of Family and Children Services board, and volunteering at the Warm Springs Medical Center Nursing Home. She was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she served on the usher board.

She's survived by a loving and dedicated husband of 57 years, Arthur C. Denson, Sr., four devoted children; Tammy Howard ( Roger), Lorton, VA, Ann Denson Willis (Artemus), Birmingham, AL, Arthur, Jr. (Linda), Midland, GA, Troy (Cathy), Lizella, GA. She was the Proud Granny of seven grandchildren; Regina, Melanie, Arthur, III (Trey), Artemus II, Joshua, NaImah and Sierra. One great grandson who was the apple of her eye, the one and only Ethan Holmes, affectionately known as "Ole Buddy".

She leaves a loving sister, Sally Reedy (Bobby), Decatur, GA, a brother-in-law Eugene Brooks, Columbus, GA, two sisters-in-law; Bertha Greene (John), Willow Grove, PA, Barbara Denson, Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A sincere "Thank You" to those special caregivers, Beverly Harvey, Erica Walker, Tramesha Walker, and Jamie Roberts.
