Bro. Lucius D. Hixson was born August 28, 1956 in Raleigh, Georgia, Meriwether County, to the late Mrs. Annie Bell White Hixson and the late Mr. Lucius Hixson. On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, our Father above called Lucius home to rest for his labor at the Columbus Hospice in Columbus, Georgia.
At an early age Lucius join the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Raleigh, Georgia. Lucius worked at B & H Roofing for many years, Warm Springs Institute and the Warm Springs Memorial Hospital for many years.
Bro. Lucius D. Hixson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lucius Hixson and Mrs. Annie Bell White Hixson; three sisters, Fannie Middlebrooks, Evelyn Lawrence, and Annie Ruth Mays; two grandsons, Tramaine D. Brown, Jr. and Travis Jermain Hixson, Jr.
He was a loving, caring father, grandfather and brother.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Alice Hixson; two daughters, Teresa Hixson (David), Beverly Hixson; one son, Travis Hixson (Narissa) all of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Mrs. Betty William (Bennie), Mrs. Veola Jackson, both of Warm Springs, GA; one aunt, Miss Mattie Pearl Hixson of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Kayasia Hixson, Tybresha Mitchell, Tyasia Hixson, Kalaya Howard and Sage Hixson; two uncles, Jessie Hixson of LaGrange, GA, Horace Bowls of Woodbury, GA; six sister-in-laws, Ida Kate Ellison (Mr. Junior) of Talbotton, GA, Carrie Dozier of Manchester, GA, Betty Dozier of Warm Springs, GA, Mary Millier (Robert) of Manchester, GA, Barbara Ann Alford (Willie) of Thomaston, GA, Jeanette Miller; four brother-in-laws, Henery Dozier (Dorothy) of Shiloh, GA, Arthur Lee Dozier of Woodland, GA, Norman Dozier (Shelia) of LaGrange, GA, and Larry Dozier of Talbotton, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom loved him very much; and two very special friends Roy Kenny and Earl McDowell.
