Obituary For Marion Keith
With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Marion Keith on July 21st, 2022.Funeral service will be Saturday, July 30th, 2 PM at Faith Chapel Holiness Church 100 Holiness Church Rd Gay, Ga.Visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM on Friday the 29th at Sewell Mortuary.Mr. Marion Keith was born July 12, 1953, in Meriwether County, to the late Mrs. Rosa Lee (Keith)Hood and the late Elder Marvin Neal, Sr. He was raised by his mother and Mr. John Willis Hood, sincethe age of four, along with nine siblings. Marion grew up in Gay, GA and was educated in theMeriwether County Schools system. He was a devoted and hardworking husband and father who lovedto cook, bake (he made the BEST bread pudding!) and take his family to church. He loved spendingtime with his family.Marion was a dedicated and strong man of faith who, during his early adulthood, accepted Jesus Christas his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Faith Chapel Holiness Church. Although he was knownto be a quiet and reserved person, he was often a lead voice for the Faith Chapel Holiness Church choir;his favorite song to lead was “I Don’t Wanna Go to Hell”. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at PiedmontFayette Hospital, the Lord called Marion to his heavenly home for rest. He will surely be missed by hisfamily and everyone that knew him.He leaves to cherish his memories: his daddy, John Willis Hood, Sr. of Gay, GA; his loving anddevoted wife of 43 years, Mary L. (Gates) Keith of Hampton, GA; four children, Vinnie L. Gates ofManchester, GA; Calvin B. Gates (Leilanie) of Hampton, GA; Beatrice M. Slaton of Gay, GA; andLakesha S. Keith of Gay, GA; eight grandchildren, Quadarius V. Ferguson; Martavious B. Gates;Zeavakerius J. Slaton; Xavier R. Slaton; Quintavious V. Ferguson; Calvin D. Gates; Marcus M.Santiago; and Khaniyah J. Keith; one great grandchild, Carlos R. Slaton; his siblings, Betty Render(David) of Atlanta, GA; Stanley Keith (Shabrica) of LaGrange, GA; Clara Keith Brown (James) ofLaGrange, GA; Willie Lene Rutledge of LaGrange, GA; Rosa Kate Hood of Gay, GA; Eva MaeClemons (Richard) of Woodbury, GA, Velma Ann Hood of Newnan, GA, John Willis Hood Jr., ofAtlanta GA; and Laura Lisa Turner (Bobby) of LaGrange, GA; and other siblings Rev. Willie C. Neal(Joann); Bishop Bobby Neal (Evelyn); Evangelist Dorothy Favors (Luther); Bernell Neal; MargaretNeal Solomon; Mary L. Neal; Shelia Simon; Curtis Hall; Jimmy Hall; Wylene Hall; and a host of aunts,uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
