Sewell Mortuary respectfully announces the passing of Mary Caldwell on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Mary Caldwell was born on Thursday, December 14, 1944.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity CME Church, 77 Trinity Street, Warm Springs, Georgia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m..

Mary Ruth Caldwell was born on December 14, 1944, in Durand, Georgia, to the late Mildred Denson and the late H. Jackson. 

On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, she peacefully entered eternal rest. 

Mary Ruth was a woman of deep faith who often stood in the gap, praying for others. Her heart was truly golden, and she always desired the best for everyone she encountered. She was a dedicated employee of the Meriwether County Board of Education, where she faithfully served for 31 years. Even after retirement, she continued to work a few hours each day, demonstrating her strong work ethic and commitment. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Dawson Caldwell; her sisters, Mary Frances Williams, Bernice Wortham, and Sandria L. Williams 

Mary Ruth leaves to cherish a loving and devoted sister-in-law, Linda Caldwell; two loving and devoted nieces, whom she raised as her own children, Nyeashia Caldwell and Naquisha Caldwell; two brothers, Richard Williams and Charles Thomas; one sister, Joanne Dixon; two honorary grandchildren, Dionde Williams Jr. and Aubree Caldwell; and a very special great-niece, Kaimarie Turner, whom she cherished deeply. She also leaves behind a special friend, Annie Billingslea, who was like a sister, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
