Sewell Mortuary respectfully announces the passing of Reginald Leroy Byrd, age 53, on October 26, 2025 (born March 28, 1972).

Arrangements: Funeral service will be Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Senoia, GA.

Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2025 from 5:00–7:00 PM.

Reginald Leroy Byrd was born to the late parents of Richard and Wylene Byrd Sr., on March 28th, 1972, in Atlanta, Georgia at Crawford Long Hospital. Reginald was the third child of this union. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at his residence in Senoia, Georgia.

Reginald's teachings of Christ started when he was a young child under the guidance of the late Dr. Rev. Cameron Madison Alexander, of Antioch Baptist Church North, in Atlanta, Georgia. It was here that he worshipped with his mom, siblings, and other extended family. As an adult he rededicated himself to Christ and joined Oak Grove Baptist Church.

As a youngster, Reginald attended Towns Elementary and Douglas High School in Atlanta, GA. Reginald later studied at Alcorn State University, where he developed an interest in technology. He received a degree in Computer Science from Atlanta Area Technical College. In his later years he started studying again at Southern Crescent College.

Reginald maintained a quiet demeanor and demonstrated a preference for solitude. However, enjoyed cooking, spending time with loved ones, reading the Bible, volunteering, and watching football, especially those DAWGS! He had a big heart filled with a desire to help and shine with compassion and empathy.

Reginald met Darlene Marshall, whom he later married in 2000. They became the parents of the late Desmond Byrd and the lovely Talia Byrd. His children were the light of his life. He loved them with all his heart. They were his sunshine.

Reginald leaves behind his daughter, Miss Talia Byrd; Talia's mother, Darlene Marshall Byrd of Senoia; his sister, Lesia Byrd Hunt, along with her husband Barrington from Stonecrest, GA; and his brother, Richard Byrd, together with his wife Lisa from Jonesboro, Georgia. Reginald also leaves to mourn his niece Miss Breyon Byrd, and nephews Blake Thomas and Jamal Byrd.
