With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Reginald Johnson on December 4th, 2023.
The funeral service will be December 9th, 2023 at 1 PM at Greater Jehovah Baptist Church Grantville Ga.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM on December 8th, 2023 at Sewell Mortuary.
On a beautiful sunny day, August 2, 1976, Barbara (Johnson) Williams was blessed with a 6lb 10 oz bouncing baby boy 19 inches long. When she looked down to see him, she called his name Reginald Darnell Johnson. As she played with him, his nickname became Poodie.
At an early age, he was a bundle of joy to the whole community of Grantville, Ga. He joined Greater Jehovah Baptist Church; there he was baptized by Rev. Jarrett Jennings. During his youth he enjoyed playing sports for the Grantville Little League and recreational department in Newnan Ga and became a self-taught barber.
He was educated in the Coweta County Public School System, graduating from Newnan High School where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. After graduation, he attended Morehouse College where he continued his football career. Upon his return home he worked in manufacturing and continued is passion in cutting hair.
He enjoyed cooking and watching sports and loved the Atlanta Braves.
Reginald was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Eddie Johnson, grandmother Bobbie Clements and Uncle Rodney Johnson.
Reginald leaves to cherish his memory to his loving parents Mr. & Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Williams, his father Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Clements; son Kadarius Buckhanna; grandchildren: Zayden and Kassie; sisters: Tiffany, Tabatha, and Tasha Clements; grandparents: Mrs. Stella Johnson and Willie Clements; aunts: Jacquelyn Davis, Vickie Williams and Galene Johnson and a host of relatives and friends.
