Mcgruder

Visitation
With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Sallie McGruder on June 7th, 2022.
A graveside service will be held on June 11th, at 1:00 PM at Trinity CME Church located at 77 Trinity ST in Warm Springs, Ga.
Visitation will be on June 10th, 2022 from 4 to 6 PM at Sewell Mortuary.
Life began for Mother Sallie Kate McGruder on July 4th, 1921, to the proud parents of the late Willie James Brooks and Johnnie Godfrey Brooks. Sallie worked in and outside her home, becoming a nurse's assistant at Roosevelt Rehabilitation Center, retiring in 1988 after 22 years of service.
Sallie accepted Christ at a very early age by joining Trinity C.M.E. Church in Durand, GA. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Bennie McGruder.
Mother Sallie was the matriarch of her family, living to enjoy five generations. There are so many words that we can use to describe her personality but one that stands out the most is her award- winning smile.
Preceding her in death were her late sister Minnie Lena Brooks, son Willie James, daughter Annette Culpepper, grandson Tony Moody and great-grandson Micah Ellison.
She is leaving a generational impact on her loved ones. She made her heavenly transition on June 7th, 2022. She leaves to cherish her loving memories of her children Johnnie Claude Strozier (Grady) of Odessadale, GA and Shirley Williams of Warm Springs, GA; Her Grandchildren, Michael McGruder (Dianna), Chantel Perry of LaGrange GA, Sheila Parks (James) of Greenville GA, Lerob McGruder, Beverly Williams of Warm Springs GA, Cassie Bennett (Octavious) of Alvaton GA, Fredrick Williams (Tahira) of Augusta GA, and Marcus Moody (Ayanna) of Shiloh GA; 33 Great-grandchildren, 22 Great Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-great-great grandchildren. Sally will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
