Mrs. Virginia Favors was born on October 22, 1965 in Newnan, Georgia to the late Eddie B. Baker and Johnnie Mae Stevenson. Her earthly life came to a quiet close on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her residence at 1D Dowdell Street in Newnan, Georgia.
Mrs. Favors was educated in the public schools of Coweta County in Georgia where she also spent her adult life. She was last employed with NCR Corporation as a Quality Control Clerk.
"Gitty Gal" as she was known by close family and friends, worked at Bibb and Bonnell most of her life. She enjoyed life and she was always honest. A favorite quote between her and Chanel was "Mother, Daughter, Sister and Friend." She will be remembered by Boogie as a true soldier. She loved her grandkids and her children were her heart. She was very proud of them both.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ms. Lula Mae Tate and Ms. Cindy Baker of Newnan, GA; her brothers, Mr. John Charles Stevenson and Mr. Richard Baker of Newnan, GA, Mr. James C. Baker of High Point, NC.
Surviving to cherish her memory is a son Gregory Favors, Jr. of Newnan, GA; a daughter, Chanel Favors of Decatur, GA; and husband, Gregory L. Favors Sr. of Newnan, GA; her brothers, retired MAJ & Mrs. David Stevenson (Josie) of Woodbridge, VA, Mr. & Mrs. Hiram Stevenson (Faye) of Newnan, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Baker (Rene) of Newnan, GA, Mr. James Baker (Fat) of Newnan, GA; and Mrs. June Billy of Thomasville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends.
