With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Virginia Sinkfield on March 6th, 2024.

Funeral Service will be March 16, 2024 at 1 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church Alvaton Ga

Visitation is March 15, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM at the Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.

Virginia Mae Sinkfield was born in Meriwether County to the late Jimmy Lee Millens Sr. and Annie Mae Strickland-Millens on March 5, 1924. Mother Sinkfield attended public school at Red Oak in Meriwether County. Virginia married the late James Sinkfield Sr. (who proceeded her in death), in 1944. To this union was born six children: Bishop Annie D. (proceeded in death) (Roosevelt) McGruder of Griffin Georgia, James Sinkfield Jr. (proceeded in death), Willie Albert Sinkfield of Senoia Georgia, Annie Louis (Willie) Tucker of Gay Georgia, Bobbie Smith of Greenville Georgia, Apostle Earnestine Sinkfield of Alvaton Georgia; Two beloved grandsons whom she raised as her own, Elder David (Emma) Chunn of Gay Georgia and Timothy (Shauntae) Sinkfield of Gay Georgia as well as her Eldest grand-daughter, Wendy (Carl) Jackson of Griffin Georgian, who care for her until the end and whom she called her personal nurse. Mother Sinkfield also leaves to cherish her memories forty- eight grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, six great- great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild. One brother Jimmy Jr. (Lorraine) Millens of Jonesboro Georgia, one brother who proceeded her in death, Melvin (Frankie) Millens of Stone Mountain Georgia. Two sisters: Bessie (Willie) Compton of Alvaton Georgia and Jean (Tommy) Mitchell of Luthersville Georgia. Virginia was a devoted wife and homemaker for many years. She received Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined New Friendship Baptist Church and later joined Shiloh Baptist Church. In the 1980's Virginia was ordained to preach the gospel and went on to assist several Pastors and Ministries over her ministry fulfillment. She labored faithfully and tirelessly with Pastor Lasator at Rising Star Baptist Church in Haralson Georgia; Prophet Lonnie Ruth Harper at Revelation of God Deliverance Prayer Band, in the Black Jack Community, where she was ordained and presided as Assistant Pastor, Pastor Alfonzo Penson at Miracle Valley in Woodbury Georgia and others. Virginia was a true Humanitarian. She helped the homeless, displaced, youth and adults in her local and surrounding communities. She fed the hungry, clothed and housed those in need as well as allowed many to live in her home until they were able to care for themselves. Virginia also leaves to cherish her memories a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, friends and community advocates. She departed and ascended from this earthly life on March 6, 2024
