Sewell Mortuary respectfully announces the passing of Wallace McGhee, age 71, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Mr. McGhee was born on Tuesday, January 11, 1955.

A memorial service for Wallace McGhee will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sewell Mortuary.

Wallace Lamar McGhee was born on January 11, 1955, in Greenville, Georgia, to the late Margarene Hinton McGhee and Wallace McGhee. He attended school in the Meriwether County School System before relocating to California, where he met and married Willeta. Together, they raised two sons, Docker and Darnell.

Lamar was a devoted entrepreneur and the proud owner of McGhee Techniques for many years. He began his entrepreneurial journey in California and continued building his legacy after returning to Georgia, eventually making his home in Luthersville, where he resided until his passing.

Lamar had a passion for motorcycles, hot rods, music, and dancing. He especially cherished spending time with his brothers, family, and friends. He was well-spoken, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted to his faith as a Black Hebrew Israelite. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, always seeking to learn and grow in his understanding. Lamar also appreciated life's simple pleasures, a good glass of wine, good music, and quiet moments of relaxation.

Lamar leaves behind a legacy of love, family, faith, entrepreneurship, and cherished memories. He leaves to cherish his memory, his two sons, Docker and Darnell; two brothers, Carthorn McGhee (Brenda) and Richard Charles McGhee (Goddess); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, classmates, coworkers, and loved ones.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, Lamar's life, laughter, wisdom, and the memories he created with those who loved him will remain forever in their hearts.
