Obituary For Jammie Taggart

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Jammie Taggart on September 6th, 2023.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday the 12th at the mortuary.

Graveside service will be Wednesday the 13th at Eastview Cemetery in Newnan Georgia at 1 PM.

Jammie Taggart passed away on September 6, 2023, in Newnan, Georgia.

He was born October 12, 1962. He was the 9th child of Charlie and Elnora Taggart. We affectionately called him “Jimmy”. He was the Joy of our life.

He graduated from Newnan High School in Newnan, Georgia. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies, but he found his greatest joy in watching Horror movies, wrestling, and playing on his computer.

He is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Taggart, mother Elnora Taggart, sister, Pearline Robinson, brother, Bennie Taggart, and niece Carletha Taggart. He leaves behind to cherish his memory 6 brothers and 2 sisters, Bobbie Taggart, Charlie (Ruthie) Taggart, Johnny Taggart, Willie Taggart, Morris Taggart, William Lamar Taggart, Kathy Taggart, and Elnada Taggart Ware. God sisters Sandy Long and Carolyn Hadley and devoted friend Jimmy Jackson.

He leaves behind an abundance of nieces and nephews, but there is one special niece, Iris Taggart and great nephew, Latrell Taggart who will forever hold a special place in Jimmy’s heart.

Just think of him as resting from the sorrow and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched...
